POLJICA
Poljica, an ideal place for quiet and peaceful family vacation far away from the city crowds and largetourist centres, offers you a unique feeling of serenity.
The village is situated in a beautiful bay with crystal clear sea and beautiful landscape and that's why Villa S&B Matijas is in that lovely location.
The village emerged close to a chapel of St Luka who is a patron saint of Poljica. The locals live from agriculture and fishing.You can enjoy a century old olive trees on nearby hills and that’s why this place is by far famous for its olive oil. Poljica is a part of the Riviera Marina that was once a bishop’s mansion from 15th century. A Hill Drid dominates a bay of Marina from where the chapel of Our Lady of the Snows keeps guard over Marina.
MARINA
Marina is a tourist place located only 12 km from the ancient town of Trogir and 36 km from Diocletian’s holiday palace - Split. There are sandy and pebble beaches that are great for children and family holidays in Marina. In the bay of Marina you can enjoy in several restaurants that offer fresh fish and excellent local wines. We recommend enjoying water sports, primarily sailing or maybe you can rent a boat or a yacht and make sure to explore the secluded bays in the surrounding area.
Major tourist attraction of Marina is its city tower, today a modern restaurant, it’s Gothic-Renaissance church of St John and the Gothic church of St Luke.
Nearby villages are also worth visiting: Vinišće, Poljica and Sevid represent a mixture of the old and the modern. The crystal clear sea and undiscovered and preserved nature will help you take a break from city crowds, reduce stress and anxiety.
TROGIR
Trogir, a harmonious stone town on a small islet connected to the mainland by bridges. It is also called the town-museum.
The whole old part of the town is on UNESCO’s List of World Heritage Sites as an example of well-preserved Romanesque town.
St Lawrence’s Cathedral with its majestic portal of Radovan is the most memorable monument in Trogir. Radovan's Portal, the most important example of Croatian and European medieval art, is placed on the main entrance of the cathedral.
On the south of the town, at the western part of the waterfront fortress Kamerlengo is situated, built by Venetians in 15thcentury. The fortress got its name from the word ‘kamerlengo’ (camerarius), clerk – cashier.
Trogir gives you the opportunity to explore its heritage and makes a good alternative to big cities. It’s a relaxing place to spend a day or two.
